4/4 German Violoncello by Lowendall, Berlin c1880 labelled “VUILLAUME Rue Croix des Petits Champs, 46” and branded VUILLAUME PARIS under the button.

A nice German cello from the workshop of Louis Lowendall. Fine workmanship together with lovely flamed woods and a luscious red varnish over a deep golden ground. Set up with Larsen strings this would make a fine cello for an advanced student or amateur player.
