Description

Product reference : 2123000931810

4/4 German violin made in Fussen probably by Simpert Niggel III labelled Petrus Guarnerius. c.175

Perhaps the most important member of the extensive Niggel family, Simpert produced many attractive instruments which typically produced big and round tone qualities. He was the son-in-law of Johann Ott. and often spelled his name as 'Sympertus Niggell' on labels.

This composite violin displays a striking two-piece back and a stylish front, likely of the Gadda workshop. It produces a very warm and full sound, resembling the rich tones of a viola. The response is good and clarity is maintained through good projection. It is in good, restored condition and would suit the advanced student or professional player.
