4/4 Italian violin, workshop of Mario Gadda Mantua 1986.
This is a brilliant sounding violin, made in the workshop of Mario Gadda, the son of Gaetano Gadda, a master luthier and the only student of Stefano Scarampella. He was Mantuan, born in 1931 and started under his father’s wing at a young age and later furthered the region’s tradition. The style was largely inspired by Scarampella and also Tommasso Balestrieri. Mario Gadda died in 2008. This particular violin has a very distinct Mantuan style, and would a brilliant and very playable instrument for its owner.
